On 04th December 2025, on Train No. 12133  Mangaluru Express at Karwar, Shri Raghvendra Shetty, Head TTE/MAQ, spotted a 13-year-old boy, travelling alone in Coach S3. The child was unable to provide clear details about his journey, but his school ID card was found during checking his bag.

Shri Raghvendra immediately contacted the school authorities and learned that the boy had run away from his boarding hostel. It was further confirmed that he lives with his mother, who works as a domestic worker. The mother was informed that her child was found and in safe custody. The child was handed over to the RPF at Udupi, who placed him in the Child Care Centre, ensuring his safety until he could return home. In recognition of his prompt and responsible action, Shri Santosh Kumar Jha, CMD/KRCL awarded Mr. Raghvendra Shetty, Head TTE / MAQ a sum of ₹5000/-.
