Konkan Railway Intensifies Ticket Checking Drives and Strong Action Taken Against Ticketless Travel
Strengthening its focus on safe and responsible travel, Konkan Railway has increased the frequency of ticket checking drives along its route. These efforts aim to curb ticketless travel and ensure smooth, comfortable journeys for authorised passengers.
In November 2025, Konkan Railway conducted 1,070 special ticket checking drives, during which 42,965 unauthorized/irregular travellers were detected. A total of ₹2.33 crore was collected as fare and penalty.
From January to November 2025, a cumulative 7,483 special drives were carried out, detecting 2,90,786 unauthorized/irregular travellers. An amount of ₹17.83 crore has been realized as due railway fare and penalty during this period.
Konkan Railway appeals to all passengers to purchase valid tickets before commencing their journey. Travelling without a proper ticket is a punishable offence and ticket checking drives will continue with enhanced focus across the entire route. KRCL will continue intensified ticket checking drives across its entire route during the upcoming winter and Christmas festive season to ensure safe, smooth, and comfortable travel for all authorised passengers.
