Enhancing rail connectivity and strengthening passenger amenities remain key priorities in advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, as envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Guided by the leadership of the Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Konkan Railway continues its efforts to improve regional connectivity and provide enhanced convenience and amenities to passengers across its network. 

Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Udupi–Chikmagalur, Shri Kota Srinivasa Poojary, inaugurated the newly developed passenger lifts at Platforms 1 and 2 of Udupi Railway Station on 17/07/2026.

The programme was held in presence of Hon’ble MLA, Udupi, Shri Yashpal Anand Suvarna, Udupi Urban Development Authority (UUDA) President Shri Dinaker Heroor, Regional Railway Manager /Karwar/KRCL, Ms. Asha Shetty, Senior Officials of Konkan Railway, Public Representatives, Media personnel, Railway Staff and General public.

The passenger amenity works inaugurated during the programme included newly developed passenger lifts at Platforms 1 and 2, aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and facilitating ease of movement within the station premises. 

The Hon’ble MP, Shri Kota Srinivasa Poojary, also addressed the gathering about the newly commissioned passenger lift facilities, the extended Executive Lounge and the newly developed toilet blocks at the station.
