Konkan Railway commissioned the Karwar Traction Substation (TSS), inaugurated by Shri Santosh Kumar Jha, Chairman & Managing Director / KRCL. The new substation shifts 40 - 50% of the traction load from Balli TSS to Open Access billing.

With a dedicated 110kV supply from Kadra, the substation ensures over ₹2 crore in annual energy savings, better voltage stability, and uninterrupted train operations during grid outages.

This strategic move marks another milestone in KRCL’s journey towards cost effective and reliable electric traction on the Konkan route.
